Size Exclusion Chromatography (SEC) is a commonly used method for extracellular vesicle (EV) and exosome isolation from biological fluids. SEC is easy, reproducible, and provides a high yield of purified EV’s that retain their functionality.
Apex SEC works the same whether you are using a column or plate format.

Apex maintains performance and drip speed after 5 reuses. Columns were tested by running 0.5 mL of human plasma sample, and pooling fractions 1–3, which represent the EV fractions.
Columns were washed with 4 mL of NaOH, followed by 17 mL of 1X PBS between reuses. EVs and HSA were quantified using the Atlas ELISA
EV composition and size comparison. Super resolution imaging (ONI) and size comparison by NTA and TEM show that Apex 4B and 6B purify EVs with the same tetraspanin composition and size.

Remove the top green cap from the Apex Column and place the column in the Apex Column rack. You can remove the bottom cap at this time.
Load the tubes into the tube rack according to the number of columns being run and the fractions being collected. Ensure that the cap of the tubes is seated properly in the tube rack to avoid any interference with the instrument
Place the tube rack on top of the tube rack platform and then insert into the instrument. The tube rack should snap into position but ensure it is fully seated.
It can operate up to 8 columns simultaneously and is compatible with Apex columns as well as other brands. The programmable fraction collection allows you to optimize collection for any application.
